Giving Hope and Opportunity to
Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The problems in our Edison neighborhood are many: functional illiteracy, unemployment, underemployment, crime dysfunctional households.
We asked one woman to write to us about being given two beds for her children. This is what she said. She has two children, they were either sleeping on the floor or sleeping in her and her husband's bed. She had a hard time finding beds for the children because she had little money. Her children enjoy having their own beds now. Also, her husband and her are grateful to have their bed to themselves.
Celebration of Hope 2009
Celebration of Hope 2009 was held in Bronson Park in Downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan on August 15th. We registered 2,500 families and individuals. We provided lunches for 2,700 people. We estimate 300 haircuts were given. Twelve tons of clothing was distributed. 250 family portraits were provided to people. Almost a complete semi-truck full of food was distributed. Most important, 132 individuals gave their lives to Jesus Christ!
